This month I would like to honor my sister, Wanda. The word honor is defined as having a high regard for an inner sense of wholeness; an appreciation for the natural integrity within someone or something.
At the beginning of the year, I shared how my sister’s struggle with MS gave me the impetus to stay healthy in body, mind and spirit. Over the pass several months my relationship with her was focused on her process, struggle and pain of having a body that only yielded to the debilitating effects of this dis-ease. I was called upon to be with her in a way that eventually allowed me to experience a richness of compassion and service that I never knew existed. It was a major letting go of all my knowledge and experience as a wellness coach so that I could simple BE present for her. On March 30, we honored Wanda as she transformed her struggle into a peaceful passing.
I didn’t realize the essence of what she brought forth in this life until I met the people that came to her memorial and the friends that walked in the recent MS Walkathon on her behalf in Monterey, CA. I have included in the Perspectives section, my brother’s very touching Tribute to Wanda.
Springtime is a time that brings out the beauty of everything that has been hibernating during the winter months. We see flowers, greener grass, sprouts of life, babies and new beginnings. We tend to feel more outward, we clean our closets and begin to spend more time out doors. A sense of appreciation kind of naturally expresses itself when the world is literally blossoming with renewal.
So we honor Mother Earth, Mother Nature and Community in a grander scale, for without community we would not experience the richness of life. Community is the synergy of all elements working together to make life happen…to make us FEEL good, healthy and vibrant.
We Honor our Health with diet and nourishment. The featured products for May and June include the Essentials containing the building blocks of good health: enzymes, probiotics and superfood all in one package. Antioxidant lotions are also featured to nourish our immune system. An educational article Nourish, Energize & Renew provides additional information on these three vital building blocks.
We Honor Mother Nature with PLANeT food to nourish our plants, fruits and vegetables which eventually land up in the meals we prepare. Nourishing the soil means nourishing our bodies.
We Honor Community by creating a level of support and ideas with the Weekly and Monthly Conference Calls. It is always great to be on a call with many others of like mind and intention from other parts of the United States and Canada.
This month I have also included articles that will contribute to all aspects of our health and well being. Christiane Northrup’s The Importance of Exercise, and Natural Health’s Affirm Your Strength great motivators and provides a simple program to cultivate our strength. Health & Fitness Your Choice and Saying Yes to Life ask very insightful questions regarding our values for health. A research article on the Antioxidant, ORAC, and SuperBlue Green Algae, and 50 ways to Nourish Your Soul are very practical and educational pieces to help you understand the value of keeping our systems clean. I have also includes a very inspirational website link to Art for the Soul.
With respect to events, I am presently taking a bit of a break to integrate all the changes in my life and to support my family. I do however want to promote the Boys Rites of Passage week at Mt Shasta. My son, had a powerful experience last summer and is now enrolled in the apprenticeship program for the summer. I appreciate that Headwaters Outdoor School and Mother Nature is playing a profound role in cultivating values and perspectives for our children.
Lastly, this month Honor your friends by referring them to me for a free initial session. I appreciate it (and they will too)! Chi Machines are on sale, and I have a great deal on Ear Candlings.
So honor life: body, mind and spirit. Give hugs, plant seeds, and Spring into renewal for health!! Remember, how we embrace life stems from the foundation of our strength, our wholeness, and well being.
I look forward to hearing from you and working together!
Charlotte
